Description:

Baylor Law seeks a highly qualified individual to join our Legal Analysis, Research, and Communication program ('LARC') as a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor or Lecturer. This role involves collaborating with fellow LARC faculty in designing, teaching, and evaluating legal writing assignments, while helping to coordinate writing instruction across all three years of our J.D. program to promote consistency and effective resource management.

Teaching responsibilities are based on Baylor Law's curricular needs and the instructor's experience; however, the primary teaching assignment is expected to be LARC 3, a course that focuses on persuasive legal writing and involves assisting with the related intramural moot court competition.

This appointment is a renewable full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track position as a Clinical Assistant Professor or Lecturer with the Baylor Law School. The anticipated appointment date is May 1, 2026.

Qualifications:

  • An earned Juris Doctor
  • Evidence of impressive academic performance in law school, such as a noteworthy ranking or GPA, earned law review membership and involvement, or other law school honors, for example, Order of the Coif membership.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in written and oral advocacy, including drafting appellate briefs and presenting oral arguments.

Experience as a practicing attorney in any field is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
