What will you be doing in this role?
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (CLS II) functions with general directions from senior technical personnel. Responsibilities include performing routine laboratory tests and may include some technically complex assays. Activities include operating and maintaining test equipment, performing, and documenting QC, training of non-laboratory testing personnel, recognizing, and responding to problems, and verifying and reporting test results. Additional duties include general support functions necessary for the routine operation of the laboratory. Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the developmental issues of the patient population(s) being served.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or limited license appropriate for the area of responsibility.
- Baccalaureate Degree in a biological science, chemistry, medical technology, or related science.
- One year of clinical laboratory experience in any clinical lab area is acceptable, two years, preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting and standing; walking and bending, lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
- Frequent use of computer keyboards, monitors, and telephones.
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices: telephone and beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms.
- Near visual acuity including color differentiation.
