The Laboratory for Cognition and Neural Stimulation (LCNS) is a cutting-edge neuromodulation lab using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) to advance the fields of cognitive neurology and cognitive neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine.

Our mission is to study structure-function relationships in the brain that give rise to cognition and healthy brain function and to translate this knowledge into the development of novel therapies for patients with cognitive deficits due to stroke and neurodegenerative disease.
Job Description
The LCNS, under the direction of Principal Investigator Dr. H. Branch Coslett, is seeking a full‑time Clinical Research Coordinator. In this role, the coordinator will take primary responsibility for coordinating and managing study visits, including scheduling, preparing visit materials, ensuring protocol adherence, and documenting all procedures. The coordinator will also support intervention delivery by administering structured speech‑language therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed research Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP). Additional responsibilities include participant recruitment, detailed data entry, administration of noninvasive brain stimulation (TMS and tES), administration of test of language, and study follow‑up activities. The coordinator will also oversee human subjects payment processes, ensuring timely, accurate compensation in compliance with institutional procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform required research activities per protocol and in accordance with Good Clinical Practices.
- Scheduling subject visits within appropriate window, ensuring all tests and assessments are completed.
- Administer noninvasive brain stimulation (TMS and tES) to enrolled study patients.
- Administer, score, and interpret neuropsychological language tests; report accurate, timely data.
- Schedule, coordinate, and collect study MRI data.
- Maintain clinical research databases, subject files, and regulatory documentation.
- Assist with manuscript preparation and data analysis.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in cognitive sciences, neurosciences, psychology, communication disorders, or linguistics preferred.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while balancing competing priorities and timelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a research team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with individuals with cognitive or communication impairments is preferred.
- Experience with EPIC EMR and REDcap is highly preferred.
- Prior brain stimulation experience is highly preferred.
Position requires a highly motivated, detail oriented, and confident individual with interests in psycholinguistics, neuromodulation, or therapeutics. The ability to communicate with patients, physicians, medical staff, and caregivers respectfully and effectively is essential. Strong planning, organizational, and prioritizing capabilities along with problem solving skills is required.
