The School of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Clinical Science Professional (Open Rank: Entry-Senior) position.

Nature of Work

Clinical Science Professionals perform clinical research related functions which may include patient-oriented research or research conducted with human subjects... The Department of Emergency Medicine seeks motivated applicants for the position of Clinical Science Professional. This role will engage patients, families, and clinical staff at the University of Colorado Hospital, manage study start-up and documentation for clinical trials... The projects focus on patients in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units with critically ill patients, including covid-19, Influenza, sepsis, major trauma and acute respiratory failure...

Examples of Duties Performed

Entry Professional: Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and studies... Obtain study subject’s medical history... Perform informed consent process... etc.

Intermediate Professional: all of the above and: Independently master study materials... etc.

Senior Professional: all of the above and: Assist with developing or develops protocol-specific systems... etc.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and conduct moderately complex research activities...
• Create complex data management and tracking tools...
• Oversee student worker(s) or junior PRAs...

Salary and Benefits

Entry Professional: $47,084 to $59,891

Intermediate Professional: $51,239 to $65,176

Senior Professional: $55,393 to $70,460

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Entry Professional: Bachelor’s degree in any field (substitutions allowed)

Intermediate Professional: Bachelor’s degree + One (1) year clinical research or related experience

Senior Professional: Bachelor’s degree + Two (2) years clinical research or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field
• Three (3) years of clinical research or related experience
