About This Opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Trial Coordinator, with expertise in clinical trial management and research coordination, to join the dedicated research team at UQ’s Queensland Aphasia Research Centre (QARC). QARC is committed to optimising the lives of people living with aphasia through research, service, and partnerships and is the first centre of its kind in Australia. As the Clinical Trial Coordinator, you will support the coordination of the MRFF project: “Overcoming Systemic Barriers in Aphasia Care with the Aphasia Treatment Translation Network (ATTAIN).” This five-year initiative aims to improve post-stroke aphasia care through evidence translation and collaborative implementation across health services.

You will assist in coordinating this multi-site research trial to support high-quality implementation of tailored, evidence-based aphasia treatment packages across metropolitan and regional hospital sites within Australia. Working closely with the research team, site coordinators, and hospital staff, the position will be responsible for coordinating intervention delivery, communication, and operational consistency between participating hospital sites. You will ensure that all required clinical activities and procedures related to the trial are undertaken to a high standard and are compliant with all relevant codes, ethical standards, laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate day-to-day trial operations across sites, ensuring activities are delivered on time and in accordance with the study protocol.
• Monitor recruitment of clinical trial participants and mitigate barriers when they arise, while maintaining accurate records
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of all ethics submissions and site specific approvals across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with national ethics regulations and research governance requirements.
• Liaise with clinical staff and members of the research team regularly and respond to queries promptly.
• Support scheduling, logistics, and delivery of the intervention across multiple sites.
• Provide training support, guidance, and ongoing assistance to site coordinators and clinicians.
• Oversee data collection (REDCap) and timely data entry across sites
• Monitor intervention fidelity, protocol adherence, and implementation consistency across sites.
• Participate in regular reviews of study progress and forward planning with the Trial Coordinators at other Sites.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Allied Health or a related health discipline, with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
• Demonstrated experience in the coordination and conduct of clinical trials in accordance with GCP and ethical standards.
• Knowledge of regulatory and ethical requirements for clinical trials in Australia.
• Strong understanding of clinical rehabilitation and implementation trials, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with speech pathologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication for people with aphasia and other communication challenges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks including verification of the right to work in Australia and mandatory immunisations.
