Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Sleep Center is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic leader in clinical and/or translational research to spearhead the expansion of research activity and innovation for the sleep program. Sleep-related investigations may include topics in sleep physiology, neurobiology, pharmacology, pathology, clinical diagnosis and management of sleep disorders, or health care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Director of Sleep Medicine Research will work collaboratively with University of Colorado faculty and Sleep Center staff to administer grant-funded research projects, and to develop and manage a research center infrastructure
- Serve as a mentor to faculty, trainees, and early career investigators in their pursuit of research activities, funding, and scholarly output
- Support and identify professional development activities for investigators and staff
- Help recruit faculty and trainees to further the academic mission of the sleep program
- Collaborate with leadership in the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program to strengthen the academic profile of the fellowship and to support investigational activities of incoming sleep fellows
- Curriculum development, evaluation of trainee performance, scholarly mentorship, and recruitment of future fellows
- Clinical activities, including direct patient care, sleep study interpretation, and routine use of electronic medical records for patient charting and office communication
Work Location: Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Dr. Katherine Green is the Medical Director of the University of Colorado Sleep Center, overseeing a 16-room patient care clinic, a 10-bed polysomnography lab on site, and 4 additional beds at UCHealth Central Park Sleep Laboratory. Clinical care is provided under the multi-disciplinary Comprehensive Lung and Breathing Program at UCHealth, led by Dr. Todd Bull, and supported by Dr. Fernando Holguin, Chief of the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine. The Sleep Medicine Clinic hosts two sleep medicine fellows per year as part of the University of Colorado Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Jessica Camacho is the Program Director of the fellowship program.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Assistant Professor:
- MD/PhD or equivalent graduate level training in sleep-related health research
- Board certification in sleep medicine
- 2-4 years clinical experience in sleep medicine
Associate Professor:
- MD/PhD or equivalent graduate level training in sleep-related health research
- Board certification in sleep medicine
- 5+ years clinical experience in sleep medicine
- Current or past faculty appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
Professor:
- MD/PhD or equivalent graduate level training in sleep-related health research
- Board certification in sleep medicine
- 7+ years clinical experience in sleep medicine
- Current or past faculty appointment as Associate Professor or Professor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience interacting with learners in graduate medical education or other graduate level learners.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Organized, motivated leader capable of balancing own research activities with the needs and efforts of faculty, trainees, and staff
- Strong track record of conducting successful independent research
- Research leadership experience, including managing budgets and developing research center infrastructure.

HIRING RANGE:
Assistant Professor: $94,668 - $275,000
Associate Professor: $105,180 - $300,000
Professor: $140,028 - $450,000
