Central Connecticut State University invites applications to join the Student Health Services office as a full-time College Health Nurse. We seek applicants who are passionate about promoting student health and wellbeing in a dynamic academic environment. About CCSU’s Student Health Services Department:
The department provides medical care to all enrolled students, free of charge. We offer evaluation and treatment for a wide variety of problems, from upper respiratory infections and sexually transmitted infections to injuries and concussions. We work with your primary care provider to manage chronic problems and work with local specialists and hospitals to handle other medical concerns. Examples of some of our services include contraceptive counseling and management, PPD screening, STI tests, rapid testing for Covid, Strep, Mono and Flu.
Position Profile
Provides direct nursing care, health assessments and triage for students. The nurse administers immunizations, medications and treatments as prescribed. Role involves educating students on health promotion, disease prevention and self-care. This person will help collaborate with campus departments and external providers to coordinate care. The office maintains an electronic health record and the nurse is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential health records in compliance with regulations. This role involves participating in campus-wide wellness initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Applicants should be comfortable performing physical assessments, providing treatment within their training and licensure, be comfortable with working with an electronic health record and comfortable using various Microsoft office platforms.

Education:
All applicants must possess State of Connecticut RN Licensure.
Experience and Training:
Minimum three years nursing experience; Strong communication, assessment and organizational skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ideal Candidate
Preference will be given to applicants with the following: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
