College Work-Study Academic Success Center Assistant

Provide assistance with academic support and informational needs to students, faculty and staff.

All applicants MUST meet the following criteria or will be marked 'disqualified':

• a current student at Macomb Community College taking AT LEAST 6 credit hours.
• currently have a work-study award given by Financial Aid - If you have not received an award or are not sure, fill out and submit this form and contact finaid@macomb.edu with questions.

Duties:

• Implement Academic Success Center policies and procedures relating to academic support and test administration.
• Provide direct assistance to accommodate client needs.
• Answer questions regarding Departmental and College-wide services and events; routes students and staff appropriately.
• Interfaces with other Student Service areas of the College.
• Answer telephones; route inquiries to appropriate departments and employee.
• Facilitate student testing procedures as assigned with great attention to detail.
• Ensures eligibility for, and delivery of, individualized ADA requirements as appropriate.
• Maintain order in the Academic Success Center, Testing Room and Computer Lab.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Troubleshoot copy machines and printers.
• Compile, record departmental data and file documents.
• Facilitate information between departments; oversee deposits, deliveries and appropriate inventories of operating items.
• Distribute mail and prepare mailings.
• Provide support to full-time staff as required.
• Participate in departmental trainings.
• Represent MCC to the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High School graduate or GED equivalent; pursuing associate degree.
