The Colton Center for Autoimmunity at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of creative and exciting fundamental and/or translational research in the broad area of autoimmunity. The objective is to enhance our understanding of the underlying causes of autoimmune disorders and to catalyze progress in the way we diagnose, predict, and treat these diseases. We welcome candidates from all areas of immunology employing a spectrum of methodologies, spanning from computational biology to basic experimental immunology. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

The Colton Center for Autoimmunity operates under the umbrella of the Institute for Immunology and Immune Health (I3H) at the University of Pennsylvania. The faculty members within I3H have diverse backgrounds and expertise spanning various fields such as autoimmunity and tolerance, cancer immunology, host-pathogen interactions, mucosal immunology, immunometabolism, neuroimmunology, and systems immunology. Our dynamic research environment is designed to encourage vibrant interaction and collaboration, facilitating the exchange of ideas, expertise, and innovative approaches. The Colton Center for Autoimmunity and I3H maintains robust connections within multiple departments across the University of Pennsylvania, including but not limited to the Department of Medicine, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, the Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics, the Department of Microbiology, and the Department of Genetics.

The faculty appointment will be in a department in the School of Medicine that is consistent with the scientific expertise of the successful candidate. Depending on the applicant's credentials, academic appointments are available in the Department of Medicine, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, the Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics, the Department of Microbiology or the Department of Genetics.

Clinical duties, if applicable, will be under the assignment of the academic department where the faculty appointment will be held and will be consistent with the clinical expertise of the candidate and needs of the department.

Teaching responsibilities may include opportunities to teach and mentor exceptional graduate and medical students, and to be an active member of several graduate groups across campus.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing and overseeing a productive and vibrant research lab, publishing high impact papers in top tier journals, successfully obtaining external funding support to sustain the lab and achieving national/international recognition as a leader in the field.

We are committed to the success of our faculty and provide significant resources, including high-quality laboratory space, a competitive start-up package and salary, administrative and operational support, and cutting-edge facilities for experimental immunology and computational biology.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
