The Communications & Events unit includes a team of three (the Communications & Events Officer and two Communications & Events Coordinators). This unit works closely with the University Librarian, the Associate University Librarian for Administrative Services, and the Libraries' Director of Development to strategically coordinate External Relations functions including marketing, communications, events, events, donor relations, and Libraries' publications. In addition, this unit collaborates with Libraries' Design Services unit on the development of publications, exhibits, and marketing materials.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, this position provides administrative support primarily for Communications and Development, with secondary responsibilities for administrative support for the three Assistant/Associate University Librarians. This position provides support for planning and producing internal and external library communications, events, exhibits, and other programming. Duties include creating and editing digital and print content (such as web, social media, exhibits, and other promotional materials) as well as assisting with daily office operations, maintaining mailing lists, preparing correspondence, and maintaining calendars and scheduling meetings.

Required:
- Ability to assist with multiple priorities and assignments at all times as well as prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

- Experience producing communication for a variety of channels/outlets (print, web, video, social media, etc.
- Knowledge of AP Style for external writing and experience writing external copy (press releases, blogs, op-eds, newsletter stories, etc.).

- Experience producing communication for a variety of communications channels (e.g., print, web, email, and social media).
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
Preferred:
- Experience with basic publication design and video production principles and tools.
- Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva graphic design software.
- Working knowledge of webpage creation and maintenance using a content management system (CMS) and/or HTML and experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) specifications.
- Experience working in a library and knowledge of general library operations and procedures.
- Working knowledge of University of California policies and procedures.
- Experience using Kauli Financial System (KFS).

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $29.40- $31.43 (Hourly).
