Communications Coordinator
The Marketing and Communications team at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John's University (SJU) invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit-eligible position of Communications Coordinator.
The Communications Coordinator supports the Marketing and Communications department in executing and monitoring communications strategies. This role involves assisting with the creation of materials such as emails, web content and newsletters. This position will align their work with institutional priorities and brands, elevating and promoting awareness of initiatives for internal and external audiences. They will demonstrate a natural curiosity to personify target audiences, their desires for engagement and the tactics that will inspire them to take action. This role also involves tracking and reporting analytics on web and communications campaigns.

The posted wage represents CSB and SJU's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated.
Internal Communication Support (35%):
- Assist with daily management of the internal platform myCSBSJU.
- Assist campus partners with drafting institutional email communications in the Cerkl platform.
- Assist the Communications Manager as needed with special projects.
Web Channel Coordination (20%):
- Assist the Website Specialist with improvement and enhancements to the csbsju.edu website. This includes but is not limited to editing copy on webpages, adding blocks and functionality to webpages and assisting campus partners with maintenance of their webpages.
Email Channel Management (20%):
- Assist with planning, development, scheduling, testing and implementation of email marketing strategies to achieve partner communication objectives.
- Publicize events and other community happenings including set up and management of event landing pages and registration forms.
- Implement HTML/CSS and design best practices for digital communications.
Analytics (10%):
- Identify outcomes and ways to track, measure and report to clients.
- Champion curricular and co-curricular priorities within the marketing communications team; provide evidence of the impact of the work (reporting, data, trends), and share stories of impact (student and alum successes, connection to mission/values, etc.) to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with analytics for the csbsju.edu website and myCSBSJU internal platform.
Collaboration (5%):
- Partner with campus partners to identify areas for support within each institution. This could include analytics of web properties, internal platforms and email for both CSB and SJU.
Project Management (5%):
- Utilize a marketing communications project management process (including tools and training) to build a culture of, and deliver on high-volume, real-time client service.
- Conduct regular status meetings and consistent communication with clients and team members in person and via correspondence and project management tools.
- Troubleshoot ways to manage tight timelines, and budget and resource constraints, while maintaining quality and exceptional execution of details.
Other (5%):
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written communication skills sufficient to write, prepare and edit materials such as articles, memos, reports, presentations, etc., using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar and sentence construction.
- Customer services skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a timely, thorough, courteous, respectful and professional manner in person, over the phone and in writing.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and under multiple deadlines. A wide degree of creativity and self-motivation is expected.
- A willingness to improve their skills and knowledge. This includes attending training seminars and self-study.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs, including evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role primarily involves extensive use of a computer and other office equipment in an office setting, with the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular travel between the campuses of CSB and SJU is required. This position can be made a hybrid role with some time working on campus and some remotely.
