Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Steeped in history and success while embracing strategic innovation, our programs compete at the highest level and strive for national championships. Job Summary
Participate in communications efforts designed to market a campus unit's products and/or services to target audiences. This position develops communications materials in the form of graphics, brochures, fact sheets, articles for publication, logo designs and/or websites. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and personnel, customers and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and utilize market research as necessary to recommend appropriate marketing communications strategies
- Develop content and oversee the design and production process for print collateral
- Consult with academic and/or administrative personnel to acquire the necessary information about the subject
- Confer with Institute Communications and Marketing to ensure that Institute graphic and style standards are followed in all material
- Obtain cost estimates, collaborate in the selection of illustrators and printers and approve their work, as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Two to four years of job related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS: This job requires skills in writing and communication, creativity and ability to incorporate a variety of resources and tools to develop marketing materials. Requires ability to understand complex and/or highly technical ideas and programs and communicate them in lay terms. Also required are organizational and communications skills as well as use of office and specialized computer applications.
