Position Highlights
Community Service Officers maintain security and safety of people and property on the University of Arizona Tucson area campuses by patrolling in marked department vehicles and enforcing University rules and regulations. Community Service Officers conduct directed as well as self-initiated patrol in order to detect and report suspicious and criminal activity to Dispatch and other field personnel.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Patrols campus on foot, bicycle or marked vehicle checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons, and safety/fire hazards. Situations requiring additional assistance will be referred to police.
- Monitors camera footage for criminal activity and reports findings to police.
- Responds to emergency calls for service such as blue light phones, medical injuries and emergencies, minor theft reports, fires, and criminal damage.
- Completes police reports on minor incidents that do not involve felony investigations, including stolen property, found property, lost property, and criminal damage.
- Provides building lock up and security services.
- Provides assistance to motorists and public during special events.
- Directs traffic at special events and accident scenes.
- Collects cash and deposits from Business Affairs to Bursars Office.
- Transports equipment to event staging area during special events.
- Transports vehicles to garage for repair or maintenance service.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent learning attained through experience required (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required. Department will consider any relevant volunteer, internship, or applicable experience as it relates towards the position.
- Successfully pass an in-depth background investigation to include passing a polygraph examination.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
