Computer Science and Engineering Hub Office Manager
Job Details
This position provides administrative coordination and support for the Computer Science and Engineering Hub. Key responsibilities include preparing travel claims; hiring student assistants and graders; monitoring and approving student hours in PeopleSoft; managing purchasing activities; assisting with class scheduling; assigning computer and engineering labs; administering department scholarships; and coordinating special events. The position also serves as a liaison between the Hub and other university departments, as well as off-campus partners.
Provides administrative support for Computer Science and Engineering Hub programs and faculty, anticipates problems, uses procedures to assure conformity, sets priorities for student workers, provides information to agencies, serves as on-campus liaison, hires and trains student assistants, handles course scheduling, manages student enrollment, maintains syllabi, handles purchasing, and assists with travel reimbursement.
Supports special projects and events, including room reservations, flyers, food, advertisements for events, coordinates scholarships, develops communication with donors, and represents the University at events.
Minimum Qualifications: Fully functional knowledge of standard office procedures, ability to operate in various structures, thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, knowledge of business mathematics, ability to use office technology. Normally obtained through high school or technical program combined with several years of related experience.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge of university systems, privacy laws, bookkeeping, expertise in Windows, Word, and Excel, effective communication, at least two years of related experience, ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred Skills: Bachelor’s degree, coursework in Computer Science or related field.
