Job Summary
Provide administrative and programmatic support to advance faculty development initiatives that strengthen teaching and learning at the College through the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). Manages CTL programming, resources, and communications; coordinate logistics for workshops, orientations, and events; and assist in maintaining records of faculty engagement.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate logistics for CTL programs, events, and initiatives, including Faculty Development Day, New Faculty Orientation, and ongoing workshops or series. Collaborate with academic leadership, instructional designers, and faculty to identify professional development needs and connect them with appropriate resources. Track participation, maintain accurate records of professional learning activities, and prepare reports on faculty engagement and outcomes.
- Manage CTL communications, scheduling, and resource organization within the college’s learning management system (EDGE/Canvas) and other platforms. Provide administrative and technical support for CTL initiatives, including scheduling, communications, and evaluation of program effectiveness.
- Assist in designing and facilitating professional learning opportunities (e.g., workshops, webinars, or short sessions) in areas such as instructional practice, assessment, or course design.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of work experience in the areas of Education, Training and Development, Instructional Design, or a related field. (Master’s degree in similar field can substitute for one year of experience).
- Strong communication and organizational skills across multiple modalities (face-to-face, virtual, and written).
- Knowledge of current software applications, with adeptness in learning new software applications.
- Experience using and supporting learning management systems and related instructional technology platforms, such as Canvas, Blackboard, or comparable systems.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Experience with program evaluation, survey design, or assessment of professional development effectiveness.
- Experience in faculty or staff development, academic or training support, or program coordination in an educational, training, or organizational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with various groups of faculty and staff.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices, universal design for learning (UDL), and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with open educational resources (OER) and digital pedagogy.
