This position involves overseeing and ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality services related to enrolment and student progress. The Coordinator acts as an escalation point for complex enquiries, offering specialised guidance to SAS advisors, and serves as a key contact for staff and students regarding student administration policies and procedures.

This position will work closely with the College Manager of Student Administration Services to deliver support services, develop strategic goals, review business processes, and enhance systems to improve the student experience across a range of student administration activities.

The Coordinator in Enrolment and Student Progress will also:

  • Be a subject matter expert for enrolment, course planning and student progress matters, and provide impartial advice and support to College Executive staff, academics, external stakeholders and relevant committees on related matters.
  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality, timely enrolment and student progress services at the College level, managing complex student inquiries and cases in line with University policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Contribute to the coordination and support of university wide enrolment preparation and monitoring activities, and other relevant engagement activities or projects aimed at enhancing the student experience and retention rates at a College level.

About You

As the Coordinator in Enrolment and Student Progress, you will be required to learn and adapt within a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. You will have excellent time-management, organisational and problem-solving skills, allowing you to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines as required. You will develop and maintain positive relationships within the Student Administration Team as well as with external stakeholders. Furthermore, you will demonstrate the ability to make independent decisions and take initiative, ensuring successful outcomes for the University.

To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate:

  • Experience in managing the provision of support services in a large, diverse, and dynamic work environment, and to provide advice and recommendation on strategic matters to senior management.
  • High level organisational, planning and analytical skills, including excellent attention to detail and ability to prepare meaningful and detailed reports and submissions.
  • The ability to provide leadership and contribute to a workplace culture that motivates, guides and supports staff to deliver customer service excellence and business improvement.

About the Student Administration Services

Student Administration Services operates under a university wide matrix services model. SAS teams are integrated within each of the five colleges, along with the front-end student service hub (Flinders Connect) and university-wide administration services to provide support across the student lifecycle, from admissions through to graduations. The suite of services that the SAS unit delivers are crucial to the student experience. These services act as the scaffold around the learning experience. In a world of increasing choices and options for students, service excellence is non-negotiable. In SAS, we understand that improving the student experience requires a holistic, one team approach.
