Required Qualifications:
- Experience in event planning and execution
- Demonstrated project management, organizational skills and time action planning
- Strong, interpersonal and effective communication skills
- Experience working with students and volunteers
- Demonstrated work in a collaborative, high-paced environment
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 or more years of higher education experience (admissions, recruitment, events, Welcome/Visitor Center) or nonprofit or public sector organizations
- Master’s Degree
- Experience with budget analysis and tracking expenditures
- Experience with use of survey and data analysis
- Experience with event management systems and CRM
- Knowledge of Texas State
Job Description:
Manage program production, planning, logistics, organization, and operations for premier events for the TXST Admissions office. These include on and off campus programming such as Bobcat Day and other recruitment and yield events.
Job Duties:
- Reporting to the Assistant Director - Welcome Center, within the office of Admissions, the Events Coordinator oversees the detailed planning, development, organization, logistics, and implementation of small -and large-scale / on and off campus events hosted by TXST Admissions.
- Creates and maintains collaborative relationships with campus partners and other Enrollment and Academic departments.
- Creates and monitors event budgets and timelines, manages reporting and tracking inventory and provides assessment for events.
- Assists with negotiating contracts with clients and service providers. Research and communicate with venues and/or vendors while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Oversees event details, including communication, venues, presenters, travel arrangements (as needed), materials, refreshments, contracts, purchasing, and technology needs.
- Collaborate with the Communications team and Global Innovation for communication and event creation in the CRM.
- Provide assistance in the Welcome Center with presentations, student volunteer management and overall team support.
Additional Information to Applicants:
This position is not eligible for full-time remote work.
Some evening and weekend work may be required during peak seasons.
