- Salary package: $99,161 to $109,457 (HEW 6) plus 17% employer's superannuation contribution and annual leave loading.
- Full-time, continuing role
- Based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde and Ryde Hospital
The Role
To coordinate and deliver operational and administrative support for students on placement in Hospitals and Clinical Schools.
In this role, you will coordinate and deliver high-level operational and administrative support to the Clinical Schools and their activities. You will provide advice and support to the Head of Clinical School across a broad range of university policies, procedures, and business processes, as well as guidance to students and clinical educators during placements, escalating issues where appropriate.
You will take the lead in developing and implementing student orientation and induction programs in consultation with school leadership, and work closely with Curriculum and Discipline Leads, as well as hospital and university staff, to ensure students’ progress through rotations aligns with curriculum requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating student clinical assessments in line with course requirements and relevant university policies.
- In collaboration with the Clinical Leads, provide high level support for the coordination of clinical teaching and ensuring appropriate and safe clinical experience hours are maintained.
- Work with relevant hospital staff to coordinate teaching spaces, student support facilities, and teaching materials are prepared, maintained and available for staff and students.
- Evaluate, monitor and provide feedback on student progress while on placement and escalate any areas of concern.
- Provide regular updates to the Course/Education support team lead/Education Services Delivery Manager on student activities to inform planning of clinical placement experiences.
- Maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and implementation of improvements to administrative systems, processes and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other areas of the University (such as the Shared Services Centre) to identify and implement opportunities for students and improvements to processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement to enhance and streamline the student experience.
- Provide support to the relevant Faculty committees as required.
- Comply with relevant professional standards and codes of ethics and EEO and WHS regulations.
- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification

Your strong communication skills and attention to detail enable you to effectively support students and staff in a dynamic teaching environment. You thrive on collaboration, building productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and continuously seek opportunities to improve systems and processes. With a solid understanding of policy and procedure, you’re confident in providing advice, managing competing priorities and contributing to a positive student experience.

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or extensive relevant experience in health administration, clinical services or education administration
- Experience in interpreting and providing advice and information across a range of education policies (preferably in a placement/clinical school setting)
- Experience in providing data analysis and high-quality administrative support including annual planning documentation and project plans, with excellent attention to detail
- Time management and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver on competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Experience in identifying, developing and implementing administrative process improvement initiatives
- Strong customer service focus and ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, with experience working with clinicians, staff, students and academic leadership in clinical settings.
