The Coordinator for Housing Operations is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work order management system and residential laundry and moving services. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between Residence Life and University Technology Services (UTS), Environmental Health & Safety, University Communication and Marketing, and the Wildcard Office. The Coordinator supervises the Summer Resident Assistant (RA) staff and collaborates with the Assistant Director for Housing Operations to ensure an effective Summer check-in and check-out process. The position shares responsibility with other Residence Life professional staff for assisting in training activities, database management, and rotating weeknight and weekend on-call responsibilities. Twelve-month, on-campus residency is required (furnished, one-bedroom apartment, utilities, cable TV, and internet access included).

Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as departmental liaison for:
- Environmental Health and Safety - attend scheduled meetings, coordinate webpage information relevant to health and safety in the residence halls.
- Conference Services - attend scheduled meetings; collaborate to schedule summer hall building access for conference, summer housing, and early arrivals.
- Door and Access Committee: Coordinate weekly meetings with Facilities Management, Wildcard, and Public Safety staff to address door and access projects and concerns.
- UTS: Coordinate maintenance and repair of connectivity or other related issues in the halls and apartments.
- Wildcard Office: attend biweekly meetings and manage campus partner access.
- Facilities Office: Coordinate fire drills for each building
Under supervision of the Director and in close collaboration with the Assistant Director for Housing Operations:
- Maintain work order management system and residential laundry service requests.
- Conduct regular inspections of residence hall common areas, including laundry facilities, lounge areas, hallways, and bathrooms to address maintenance and custodial concerns.
- Coordinate moving services within residence halls.
- Collaborate with Facilities Management, Custodial Services, Public Safety, and Wildcard to coordinate room readiness and third-party vendor access.
- Supervise Graduate Resident Director for Operations.
In close collaboration with the Director of Communication and Marketing for Student Life, manage and maintain housing and residence life webpage, as follows:
- Update webpage annually to reflect all accurate housing dates.
- Review webpage for accurate and up to date content including University policies and new residential programs.
- Develop appropriate content and language for the webpage.
- Add and update video content and photographs for all residence hall communities.
- Develop and maintain Residence Life social media page.
- Prepare and distribute break housing emails and announcements.
Collaborate with Residence Life colleagues to:
- Assist with development and presentation of RA training and in-service programs relative to residence hall operations, environmental health and safety, and other topics as needed.
- Develop and disseminate educational material related to residence hall operations.
- Participate in nightly on-call rotation as primary and second-tier support for graduate staff; respond to crisis situations on campus as needed.
- Participate in weekly office meetings and scheduled meetings with supervisor.
- Assist as needed with Residence Life Staff Selection.
- Participate in departmental functions and events, as scheduled.
- Address low-level conduct cases (Community Living Standards).
Assist Assistant Director of Housing Operations with student check-in and check-out processes:
- Oversee and train Residence Life RA staff on conducting pre-check-in room assessments and follow-up on concerns with appropriate staff.
- Coordinate the preparation and cleaning of rooms for turnover at the opening and closing of each semester.
- Supervise Summer RA staff and manage summer hall operations and programming.
- Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years' experience in residence hall management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must convey highest degree of professionalism, be a team player, and have strong attention to detail while providing vision and strategy.
- Sophisticated knowledge of working with others, with conflict management and difficult conversations, strong facilitation skills.
- The individual must have a deep commitment to the flourishing of Villanova University, its students and mission, and an understanding of Villanova's Augustinian and Catholic values and how these values inform our interactions with campus constituents.
- Facility with social media posting and content management.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technologies.
- Highly competent with computer software: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experience with academic software and content management systems.
- Genuinely cares about students, their well-being, and their success, along with their families.
- Demonstrated familiarity with a sensitivity to cultural diversity concerns and anti-racism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or related field.
- Experience in higher education, customer service, and working with a variety of campus populations.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative management skills.
- Direct experience with the administration of housing management systems such as StarRez or CBORD.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
The Residence Life Professional Staff interacts extensively with students and student paraprofessional staff. Consequently, it is common for meetings and events to be scheduled beyond traditional work hours. A member of the Residence Life Professional Staff should anticipate the need to work into evenings and on weekends, as necessary, throughout the academic year, particularly during staff training periods and in conjunction with opening and the closing of the residence halls. Additionally, members of the Residence Life Professional Staff may be asked to work beyond traditional work hours to manage crisis and/or emergency situations.
The Residence Life Office is a high-traffic and busy work environment with multiple peak periods of work activity across the calendar year. Interruptions of work tasks to attend to phone or walk-in inquiries are the norm. Customers, including resident students and their parents, call frequently with problems, complaints and concerns that must be addressed with courtesy and accuracy.

Salary Posting Information
This position falls within salaried grade 12 and the range for this position is $47,500-56,900. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate's qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
