Job Description

At the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University (CEPR), our mission is to transform education through the power of quality evidence. We believe that if we want to dramatically improve educational outcomes for all children, evidence must play a critical role.

The Strategic Data Project (SDP), an initiative of the Center for Education Policy Research, is a national network of education leaders working to use data to improve student success. SDP has trained more than 1000 data leaders through its data fellowships and SDP Institutes in Leadership and Analytics (SILA).

Job-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Event Support (30%): Coordinating SDP’s in-person and virtual events to ensure a high-quality experience for partners. For in-person events, this includes liaising directly with hotel management, food vendors, and A/V contacts. For virtual events, ensuring the platform is functioning, everyone has access, and activities run smoothly. Support event speakers and attendees by booking travel and securing lodging, consistent with university policies. Provide in-office support for pre- and post-event organization, including printing materials and packing/shipping supplies.
  • Meeting and Learning Event Planning and Facilitation (20%): Contributing to presentation creation, agenda design, session delivery, and curriculum planning for SDP events and workshops. Presenting at planning meetings, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring seamless event implementation. Monitoring event attendees as they register and participate, providing reminders and support for successful attendance.
  • Participant Monitoring (25%): Monitoring cohorts of learners through program milestones, identifying at-risk participants for the Program Manager. Maintaining contact records in QuickBase, managing access to tools, tracking progress, and supporting onboarding/offboarding tasks. Acting as first-line support for participant questions via email or at events.
  • Program Operations (15%): Preparing financial documentation, including reimbursement paperwork and reports in Concur. Managing access permissions and content on platforms like Canvas, Whova, and Slack to ensure high-quality, branded materials.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration and Participation (10%): Working with the team to support SDP initiatives, collaborating with coordinators, and assisting in the selection and management of interns and temporary staff.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience, or equivalent.
  • Prior program/project coordination experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a multi-task environment and work independently.
  • Handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
  • Competency in Microsoft Suite and Google Docs.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in education or public sector preferred.
  • Experience with recruitment, sales, or application management.

Additional Information:

  • Appointment End Date: 1 Year from start date.
  • Standard Hours: 35 hours per week.
  • This position requires occasional travel (approximately 10%) and flexibility for early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
  • Work Format: Eligible for 100% remote work from specified states.
