Job Summary:
The Coordinator of Disability Support Services reports to the University Director of Disability Support and Academic Support Center and has responsibility for coordinating accommodations and related services for students with disabilities, managing the Office for Disability Support Services, supervising student personnel, and serving as a resource to the Fairleigh Dickinson University community. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the University Director.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Student Services Administration, Higher Education Administration, Management, or other field preferred.
- A minimum of 1-year of related experience, including but not limited to: legal issues, higher education, and support services.
- Familiarity with federal, state and local laws regarding access for people with disabilities preferred.
- Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
- Administrative experience which includes decision making and policy making.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and administrators.
- Knowledge of assistive technology software(s), strong computer skills, research and statistical reporting skills preferred.
- Willing and able to work non-standard hours as required, including evenings and weekends
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
