Job Description
The Office of Undergraduate Academic Integrity is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Coordinator. This position is a part-time, 9-month (August 10-May 9) wage position that is integral to promoting and supporting a culture of honesty and integrity at Virginia Tech. The person in this position will be responsible for case management, attending and overseeing hearing panels, meeting individually with both students, faculty, recruiting panelists, and planning events. This position will also be expected to interpret, evaluate, and implement the Undergraduate Honor System policy under the direction of the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Academic Integrity. This person is responsible for overseeing all virtual panel proceedings in collaboration with the Assistant Director. This position will interact with students, faculty, and other university stakeholders. The schedule may include attending some evening panels with compensatory time off during the regular workday.
The Coordinator is a member of the Undergraduate Honor System's staff and has primary responsibility for assisting the Assistant Director in the panel process, meeting with students who are accused of academic misconduct, and engaging with the campus community of behalf of the Office of Undergraduate Academic Integrity.
Specific responsibilities of the Coordinator include:
- Oversee the effective scheduling, establishment, and execution of remote Undergraduate Honor System hearings for the Fall and Spring semesters, which requires coordinating the schedules of several faculty members and students on a regular basis.
- Support the development and execution of panel recruitment, selection and training processes. Provide mentoring and professional development for student panelists.
- Process, manage and track all UAI cases.
- Provide ongoing evaluation of hearing panel procedures and documentation to ensure that OUAI is consistent with ICAI best practices and promotion for academic integrity.
- Support data requests using Maxient and university data sources. Prepare data for presentations and monthly and annual reports.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with related experience. Strong written, oral, organizational, management, and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service in an academic or professional environment. Record of professionalism and demonstrated work ethic. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and timely decision-making practices to accomplish organizational goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education, specifically academic integrity, student conduct, housing and residence life, or other community standards system.

Overtime Status Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime

Hours per week 40 hours per week; M-F 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; limited to a total of 1500 hrs./year
