Position Summary
Are you an Office Coordinator passionate about supporting students’ mental health? Join the Ramily! The Counseling Center at Winston-Salem State University is seeking a Coordinator of Wellness Center Outreach. The fundamental mission of the WSSU Counseling Center is to assist WSSU students in developing a broader awareness of self while facing and negotiating challenges and obstacles during their stay at Winston-Salem State University. The Coordinator of Wellness Center Outreach will report directly to the Director of Counseling and support a team of University Counselors.
Responsibilities of the Coordinator of Wellness Center Outreach include:
- Act as the first point of contact for the Counseling Center, answering phones, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries
- Answer questions from students, faculty, staff, and other visitors about program information, policies and procedures
- Implement outreach initiatives that promote health, wellness, and mental well-being within the campus community.
- Create and launch outreach campaigns to increase awareness of wellness resources among students, faculty, and staff
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate educational programs and events to promote mental well-being on campus
- Coordinate and follow-through on referrals from internal and external providers
- Manage outreach budgets and resources to ensure effective and sustainable wellness initiatives
- Provide administrative support to licensed clinicians and maintain accurate business records for the counseling center
- Maintain and update student records in the EHR system and assist with onboarding new staff in the HER system
- Manage staff schedules, travel arrangements, and reconciliation of travel expenses

Requirements and Preferences
Department Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, OR four years of work experience in a medical office
- One year of experience in a similar office coordinator role
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Two to five years of experience in an office coordinator role
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA policies and compliance procedures
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality
