Position Highlights

The Program Coordinator for the University of Arizona Superfund Research Center (UA SRC) is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Center.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site work at the University of Arizona campus with remote work flexibility.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist, work directly and report to the UA SRC Director in all areas of administration.
  • Act as a liaison between the UA SRC and its federal sponsor (NIH/NIEHS).
  • Coordinate UA SRC annual Research Performance Project Reports (RPPR) and renewal applications.
  • Work with the UA SRC Business Manager to oversee expenses, process grant applications, grant renewals, and travel arrangements.
  • Coordinate UA SRC administrative team and UA SRC overall meetings (e.g., management meetings, Colloquiums, etc.).
  • Coordinate and support all trainee activities and report those activities to federal sponsors (e.g., CareerTrac, SRP Data Collection Tool).
  • Assist the Community Engagement, Data Management, Research Translation and Research Experience and Training Coordination Cores.
  • Assist the Research Projects with reports and manuscripts preparation.
  • Participate in NIEHS SRP Student/Postdoc/Alumni Network (SPAN) Calls and Research Translation and Community Engagements calls (via zoom).
  • Maintain and update the UA SRP Website (including writing and posting highlights, update publications, etc.).
  • Organize annual UA SRC advisory board meetings, special conferences and/or workshops.
  • Manage travel arrangements, registrations and abstract submission for Superfund Annual Meetings.
  • Coordinate and assist with the Graduate Program Coordinator with outreach activities, workshops, seminars, and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Knowledge of administrative policies regarding NIH-funded research.
  • Skills in note taking, newsletter production, and website maintenance.
  • Ability to write professionally in English.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS (or higher) degree in public health or related fields preferred.
  • Experience with federal research grants preferred.
