Job Description
The Registrar's Office supports the academic mission of the university by ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of student academic records and processes. The office administers and coordinates core academic services in alignment with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and the needs of students, faculty, and staff, enabling effective academic operations across the university.
The Curriculum and Catalog Specialist is responsible for the accurate processing and maintenance of curriculum and academic catalog data, ensuring alignment with established policies, procedures, and timelines. This role performs high-volume, detail-oriented work including processing course and program changes, maintaining catalog content, conducting system testing and data audits, and supporting class scheduling operations, including course sections and instructional space (classroom/room assignments). The Specialist provides customer service and training to campus stakeholders, resolves routine issues, and escalates complex matters as appropriate.
What you will do:
- Review and process course and program edits in the CourseLeaf (CAT) catalog and (CIM) curriculum information management software.
- Maintain and update the term class schedules by building and updating course sections, assigning class days and times, instructors, and instructional space (classroom/room assignments), processing schedule changes, managing room assignments through EMS, and assisting with finals scheduling in accordance with established policies and procedures. Review courses and class schedules to verify compliance with policies, guidelines and/or procedures.
- Generate appropriate requests for missing or incorrect information and ensure data is corrected promptly.
- Create, update, and test all course prerequisites, corequisites, and restrictions.
- Review individual catalog edits for accuracy and alignment with established guidelines prior to final approval.
- Assist with training sessions each term for the course coordinators.
- Provide one-on-one training as needed.
- Provide customer service and respond to high-volume inquiries from course coordinators and campus partners.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of internal and external standard operating procedure documents and training materials.
- Identify and document issues with the CU-SIS Curriculum Management module and CourseLeaf software by testing scenarios in a test environment.
- Perform testing of software upgrades for the CU-SIS Curriculum Management module.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an office setting.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience with databases and data entry.
- Customer service experience that includes either internal or external constituents.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Conditions of Employment
- Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required. The Registrar's Office supports the Commencement Ceremony on Saturdays two times per year.
- This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $44,800 - $47,000.
