JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking two custodians to join our Facilities team. Custodians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of their assigned building and the surrounding grounds on campus.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

Performs various duties such as:

• Maintain various flooring types
• Dust and wash walls, partitions, windows
• Maintain bathroom, showers and other similar facilities.
• Remove trash.
• Operate power operated custodial equipment.
• Responsible for unlocking and locking various interior and exterior building doors.
• Assists with relocation of furniture and small equipment by:
  • Setting up and returning campus facilities to their original state after event use
  • Move and relocates furniture and small equipment and belongings not characteristic of rigging.
• Clears snow from steps and exits as assigned during winter.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
• Driver's License Required
• Ability to use various types of cleaning equipment, both powered and non-powered.
