SUNY Potsdam invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of The School of Arts and Sciences.  The School of Arts and Sciences is a vibrant unit serving 36 majors and 34 minors spanning the humanities, natural and social sciences and the arts. The School provides foundational learning for all students through general education, supports content area preparation for future teachers and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across campus.

Students in The School of Arts and Sciences engage deeply in hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning with community impact, research and professional development, supported by the Lougheed Center for Applied Learning. The School is also home to distinctive centers supported by donor and grant funds, including the Wagner Institute for Sustainability and Ecological Research (WISER), the Potsdam Humanities Institute, and the HEARTH (Handcrafted, Experiential Archaeological and Teaching Hub).

Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative, visionary leader and an advocate for liberal arts education. The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of academic excellence and effective administrative leadership, and the ability to build a positive and inclusive culture of teaching and learning across disciplines.
