Touro University invites nominations and applications for the position of Founding Dean of the Business School. The Founding Dean will work with senior leaders, faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders to develop the new Touro University Business School, which will combine Touro’s undergraduate business programs with the programs in its Graduate School of Business. The Business School will offer undergraduate and graduate programs designed to prepare students for dynamic careers across the full spectrum of business sectors, including the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.

Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and to the Vice President for Undergraduate Studies, the Dean is the School’s chief academic, administrative, and fiscal officer. The Dean will shape a future-focused academic enterprise that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and adaptability required to thrive in a complex, technology driven global economy. The Dean will execute a vision for the School through collaboration with others, including undergraduate deans and graduate leaders, department chairs, faculty, and university leadership, to design and implement expanded programs and curriculum.

The entire Touro University community is excited, engaged, and committed to working with the Founding Dean to strategically plan, develop, and execute on creation of the new Business School. These efforts will require the Dean to be a student-centered dynamic leader in the world of business and business education to create a likewise dynamic new School. The Dean will play a significant role in creating vibrant educational pathways, seamlessly integrating its undergraduate business programs with its graduate programs.

The Dean is responsible for working with existing faculty and for overseeing the recruitment, development, and retention of faculty across both undergraduate and graduate programs. The Dean will also lead the process of obtaining and maintaining all appropriate program accreditations, approvals, and certifications. Student recruitment is an important aspect of the Dean’s responsibilities and Touro seeks a passionate, personable, and visible Dean to help navigate enrollment management success. The Dean will also develop goals and objectives for the School through the creation and implementation of a new strategic plan and annual assessment to ensure continued success.

Working in concert with the deans of other Touro University undergraduate and graduate schools, and relevant chairs, the Dean will lead the development and advancement of joint programs and ensure alignment with institutional priorities. The Dean is also the School’s chief advocate and steward, promoting its goals and achievements, leading its development and fundraising activities, and speaking for its mission of excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service. The Dean will inspire students and promote an ethos of professionalism and care. Further, the Dean will be the School’s public voice, promoting innovative ideas and solidifying partnerships within Touro University, nationally, and internationally as a recognized leader in the field.

Required Compensation Notice: Touro University offers an attractive compensation and benefits package, commensurate with the successful candidate’s background and experience. The estimated salary compensation range for the position is $290,000 – $300,000. Touro University has provided this range which represents its good faith estimate of what the University reasonably expects to pay for the position. The final salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate – including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable positions.
