Design Teaching Fellowships - Cornell AAP
Department of Architecture, Cornell University AAP
Design Teaching Fellowships:
The Department of Architecture at Cornell University is launching a search for multiple Design Teaching Fellowship positions for architecture design instruction to begin Fall 2026.
The Fellowships are a nine-month position (renewable for up to two academic years) within Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning in Ithaca, NY, at the rank of Instructor.
Each Fellowship centers on teaching architectural design and architecture courses within an established Teaching Mentorship framework. In addition to design studio teaching, Fellows will have the opportunity to advise thesis students and teach one to two additional courses, of which one will facilitate exploration and development of the Fellow's design research/creative practice. Design Teaching Fellows will have an opportunity to share their design research/creative practice work in an exhibition and/or public presentation.
Fellowships are intended to support the development of teaching and design research/creative practice of exceptional emerging designers /architects. Candidates should propose a design research/creative project to be shaped and developed during their year, while also considering potential interfaces with foundational design pedagogy. Cornell Architecture welcomes innovative transdisciplinary thinking that expands the scope and potential of contemporary architecture and its practice.
A professional degree in architecture is considered a necessity for this position (B.Arch or M.Arch). Two to five years of experience in the profession is encouraged.
