Development Coordinator, College of Information and Communications
Job Details
Under minimal supervision, reporting to the Lead Senior Director of Development for the College of Information and Communications, the Development Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative support, including complex tasks and project coordination. Responsible for executing administrative, technical, and customer service functions to ensure smooth program operations. Serves as part of the USC Development team, adhering to systems, policies, and procedures to support the College and University mission.
Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in development/advancement or related industry; experience in higher education or non-profits; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with USC policies.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in verbal and written communication, attention to detail, customer-service orientation, ability to work independently, professional judgment, budget management, computer software expertise (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat), accountability, integrity, and a positive attitude.
Job Duties:
- General and Complex Administrative Support (25%): Manage calendars and mailboxes, schedule meetings, handle expenses, purchasing, budgetary assistance, travel arrangements, draft proposals, and serve as administrative expert.
- Blackbaud/Databases (20%): Assist with logging activities, creating reports, using tools like Visual Analyzer, maintain data in CRM, and act as subject matter expert.
- Development & Stewardship (20%): Support donor giving cycles, draft agreements, liaise with Annual Giving, manage acknowledgements and correspondence, coordinate materials, and assist with event management.
- Prospect Management (15%): Support prospect qualification, research, and CRM activities.
- College University Development Liaison (15%): Serve as primary liaison for various University Development teams.
- Other Duties (5%): As assigned.
Salary: $45,133 - commensurate with qualifications.
Location: Columbia, SC.
