Development Coordinator

The School of Engineering Development team is seeking a Development Coordinator to join our dynamic, team-centered environment. This position reports to the Development Operations Manager and provides outstanding office support and administrative services. The successful candidate will support the group responsible for stewardship of donors in the School of Engineering.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Director and team of Donor Relations and Development Communications.
  • Assist with production and distribution of stewardship communications, particularly gift acknowledgment letters.
  • Support donor event planning and execution, including event logistics, invitations, preparation of attendee bios, and event collateral.
  • Research and contribute to background briefings on donors and prospects. Build a network of relevant contacts and stay informed on current university initiatives and activities.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain donor and stewardship information in the development database and produce reports to respond to internal and external requests for information.
  • Compile and track data about donor and alumni participation and volunteerism.
  • Originate purchase requisitions, expense reimbursements, and access Stanford's online gift and accounting databases for reporting purposes. Review and track funds and report on use of gifts, as assigned.
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments, including conference room scheduling. Plan and schedule calendar(s) for assigned gift officers or team members with limited consultation, resolve calendaring conflicts, and arrange travel in compliance with unit, university, and sponsor policies.
  • Help with other team events and other fundraising projects and programs assigned by supervisors.

Education & Experience (Required): Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required):

  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of database systems, such as Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to work efficiently, juggle tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Outstanding communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered.

Education & Experience (Desired): Strong writing skills with the ability to draft original correspondence and to finalize draft documents for distribution to internal and external audiences with great attention to detail. Familiarity with centralized computing and database management systems is desired. Familiarity with Stanford processes and systems desired and/or the ability to develop expert-level skills in those systems.

Working Conditions: May require working flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements: Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, sit, and use a telephone, stand/walk. Occasionally light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, writing by hand.

Pay Range: The expected pay range for this position is $36.57 to $42.81 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
