Director, Center for Technology, Innovation & Manufacturing (CTIM), Vincennes University Jasper—Jasper, IN
Vincennes University Jasper (VUJ) is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking leader to serve as the Director of the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing (CTIM). This position plays a key role in advancing the Jasper campus enrollment growth strategy, strengthening regional partnerships, and guiding the continued development of high-impact technical programs.
Program Leadership, Facility Management, and Strategic Planning
- Create and sustain a positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented work environment within CTIM.
- Coordinate, recruit, and supervise academic programs and workforce partnerships housed within the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing.
- Serve as an Academic Area Coordinator, collaborating with the College of Technology at the Vincennes Campus to ensure consistency, rigor, and alignment of academic programming.
- Lead the selection, installation, scheduling and implementation of curriculum, equipment, and instructors; oversee the hiring of adjunct faculty, lead the search for full-time faculty, and conduct comprehensive faculty evaluations.
- Oversee CTIM facilities as building administrator, ensuring safe, effective, and forward-looking use of space, equipment, and “Smart Factory” standards.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate instructors and lab support staff.
- Teach at least one class per year (credit or non-credit) in areas of qualification to maintain direct connection to student learning and industry practice.
- Manage an advising caseload of students to support timely degree completion and successful career placement.
- Oversee and participate in academic assessment processes at all levels—from course-level outcomes to comprehensive program reviews—to ensure continuous improvement and institutional accreditation standards.
- Represent the Jasper campus by serving on University-wide committees and participating in institutional governance and strategic planning initiatives.
- Oversee internship coordination for CTIM programs, including Career Advancement Partnership (CAP) and Automation and Robotics Academy (ARA).
- Chair and facilitate industry advisory boards to ensure curriculum relevance, equipment alignment, and strong internship pathways.
Recruitment, Partnerships, and Regional Engagement
- Lead enrollment growth efforts for CTIM programs as part of the broader campus recruitment strategy.
- Serve as a primary liaison between VUJ, high schools, and industry partners to build strong enrollment pipelines and workforce connections.
- Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies for CTIM programs.
- Maintain and execute a comprehensive communications and outreach strategy for key stakeholders.
- Cultivate and expand partnerships with regional manufacturers, Patoka Valley Career Cooperative, and workforce organizations.
- Collaborate with university partners, including the College of Technology and other units, to ensure program alignment and expansion.
- Work closely with regional partners such as Dubois Strong and Hub 19 to support economic development and workforce initiatives.
- Represent CTIM and VUJ at regional events, industry meetings, and recruitment activities.
Academic Innovation and Workforce Development
- Partner with university leadership to identify emerging industry trends and translate them into new academic and workforce programs.
- Collaborate with other University units, including VU’s Business and Industry team, to develop credit and non-credit training pathways.
- Support the development of innovative, advanced manufacturing, automation, and technology-based learning experiences, including seminars, demonstrations, and tours.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree and/or industry certifications are preferred.
- Proven leadership experience with a collaborative, entrepreneurial approach to organizational growth and development.
- Strong communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce development, technical education, or advanced manufacturing environments preferred.
- Ability to lead teams, manage facilities, and oversee complex academic and operational systems.
- Experience with curriculum development, program expansion, or institutional growth initiatives is desirable.
- Experience in training or instruction in relevant technical areas.
- Forward-thinking mindset with knowledge of modern manufacturing technologies and workforce trends.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, educators, industry leaders, and executive leadership.
- Valid driver’s license.
