Job Summary
The Director of College Financial Affairs II oversees all accounting and budgeting activities for a large college with a significantly larger budget. Ensures application of accounting principles, practices, and techniques in accordance with industry standards, current laws, and University policy. Manages resources of assigned areas to accomplish goals and objectives. Supervise accounting and other staff, as well as provide guidance and direction to other college staff.
Additional Department Summary
Provides comprehensive leadership for all fiscal operations within the college, including budgeting, management, and financial reporting to the Styslinger College of Engineering (SCoE). Serves on the SCoE college leadership team and advises the Dean on resource allocation, funding strategies, and ensures financial management of resources. Leads the SCoE Financial Services Team. Coordinates and oversees all services that fall under the financial umbrella of the college, including the accounting and budgeting for each unit within the college. Directs all aspects of the budget accounting process, including annual budget development and forecasting. Reviews college-level business processes and implements procedure updates. Manage the development of internal processes to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as directed by the University, Finance and Operations, Academic Affairs, and the Styslinger College of Engineering. Serves as the college liaison for Human Resources by providing oversight of recruitment, payroll, benefits, and employee relations for the Styslinger College of Engineering faculty, staff, and students.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related financial field and eight (8) years of accounting experience; OR Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and six (6) years of accounting experience.

Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative.
Proficient in advanced spreadsheet and database operations. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data to develop financial models and prepare comprehensive reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in accounting or closely related field and/or CPA. Experience partnering with senior leadership, overseeing financial operations and guiding budget development. Two (2) years of experience in a leadership position with supervisory duties. Some experience in not-for-profit accounting, especially higher education. Knowledge and experience with University's accounting, financial, and purchasing policies and procedures. Some experience using PageUp, Banner, and Concur.
Pay Grade/Pay Range
Minimum: $101,900 - Midpoint: $142,700 (Salaried E15)
Normal Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
