Essential Functions
General Purpose
Under general direction of the Vice President or Dean, Students, plans, organizes, directs and integrates the operations of the college's Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSP&S); determines program needs, formulates action plans and works with faculty and staff to provide auxiliary aids and accommodations to students with verified disabilities to support educational goals; develops and monitors the program budget; ensures the college and related centers comply with state and federal regulations and requirements; and performs related duties as assigned.
Distinguishing Characteristics
A Director, DSP&S is differentiated from other academic directors by its responsibility for the management and oversight of the activities, services and staff of the DSP&S program and associated student centers. Incumbents ensure students with disabilities have equitable access to instruction, enrollment services, financial aid and student success initiatives and may act as the college's 508 Compliance Officer. The incumbent has full management responsibility for the program and has broad planning and administration duties.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students...
Must meet the minimum qualifications for a DSP&S counselor or instructor, or for an educational administrator.
