Director for AI Systems Management Programs at Heinz College

We are currently seeking an innovative and proactive Director for AI Systems Management Programs to lead and evolve a growing suite of AI-related educational offerings. These include: a new campus-based Master's in AI Systems Management (AIM), launched in Fall 2025; an online certificate in AI Systems Management; and a master's-level concentration in AI Management. These programs strive to develop a new generation of organizational technologists with the skills to responsibly and successfully implement AI across sectors.
This Director will report directly to the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and will contribute to the department by coordinating multiple facets of program delivery, student support, curriculum alignment, tracking & reporting, and program growth.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a spokesperson for Heinz College's AI programs, communicating the evolving AI landscape and its talent demands.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Career Services, and Marketing to recruit students and increase visibility with employers.
- Build and maintain external partnerships that support the college and enhance student opportunities.
- Support academic operations including teaching schedules, experiential learning, and student engagement.
- Maintain continuous strategic evaluation of academic program offerings and their alignment with market needs.
- Lead all aspects of the capstone project lifecycle, from scoping to student team management and assessment.
- Develop and maintain metrics to evaluate program performance and outcomes for internal and external reporting.
- Handle the program budget and support resource planning.
- Collect and coordinate information to support the review and updating of student records, curriculum, handbooks, and marketing content. Take a data-centric approach to decision making and strategy formulation.
- Collaborate with internal staff and external co-sponsors to coordinate events of various sizes and delivery modes (in-person, hybrid, remote).
- Act as a liaison across departments, including academic services, faculty, finance, admissions, and more.
- Additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Excellent administrative, managerial, organizational, and planning skills, including the ability to prioritize work and work independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to audiences of all sizes and backgrounds.
- Leverage advanced computer and database management skills, with expert proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Maintain confidentiality and data protection when handling confidential information.
- Capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, ensuring timely completion of tasks with accuracy and high-quality output.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed and travel both internationally and domestically.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Business, Technology or related field
- Three (3) years of related experience in decision science/AI
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in-office presence 3 days a week.
