Job Summary
Provide management, assistance, and support for maintaining institutional accreditation with the College's chosen accrediting body by preparing accreditation-related documents (e.g., reaffirmation reports, substantive changes), providing guidance to divisions on accreditation requirements, ensuring off-campus instructional sites and educational partners meet El Paso Community College (EPCC) standards, and maintaining historical archives of all accreditation actions and communications. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Essential Functions
Work closely with the El Paso Community College (EPCC) Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Accreditation Liaison to ensure the College has the most current information on the SACSCOC policies, principles, and practices. Develop and implement strategies across the District to meet accreditation standards and requirements. Identify potential areas of non-compliance or risk, and provide general guidance on minimizing or eliminating those risks.
Work collaboratively with EPCC Departments, Divisions, Offices, and Specialized Accreditation Coordinators to communicate accreditation requirements and assist those offices in complying with accrediting standards and Substantive Change requirements. Assist EPCC personnel in preparing reports, letters, and responses for submission to SACSCOC. Collaborate with the Directors of Institutional Effectiveness, Institutional Planning, and Student Learning Outcomes/General Education Outcomes in reporting to SACSCOC.
Manage the collection and analysis of information and respond to inquiries regarding the accreditation process. Develop timelines for completion of all tasks associated with the accreditation process. Oversee ongoing regulatory compliance audits and conduct research as requested.
Serve as a point of contact and assist the institutional EPCC SACSCOC Liaison by providing analysis and organizational support for accreditation, including the comprehensive Compliance Certification Report and the Fifth-Year Interim Report. Organize, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of accreditation planning agendas and recommendations, ensuring alignment with District-level initiatives as needed. Provide regular progress reports to the Cabinet administrators and other EPCC personnel, as appropriate.
Monitor off-campus instructional sites in collaboration with the Dean of Dual Credit and Early College High Schools by coordinating reviews of facilities and resources for potential new sites and conducting periodic visits to existing sites to ensure they have adequate operations, resources, and enrollments to justify continued operation.
Track and maintain organizational systems and processes supporting both ongoing and as-needed accreditation work, including creating and ensuring maintenance of office filing system, and developing oral and written presentations for internal and external stakeholders regarding accreditation requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree and five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Experience with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and project management experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across departments and divisions.
- Ability to effectively use organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to make effective decisions.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Ability to prepare and deliver information through presentations to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of EPCC policies and procedures, including how to access and reference these documents to guide EPCC’s accreditation efforts.
- Experience generating and executing budgets.
