SUNY Oneonta is hiring a Director of Business Services to join our Division of Finance & Administration. As Director of Business Services, you will report to the Associate Vice President of Finance & Administration and be part of a team responsible for university financial planning and strategy development. You'll work closely with colleagues across campus and regularly partner with SUNY System Administration, the Office of General Counsel, the Office of the New York State Comptroller, and external vendors. In this role, you will serve as the University's subject matter expert in contract administration, procurement, accounts payable, and travel, ensuring compliant, efficient, and customer-focused business operations.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Managing all aspects of contract administration and the bid/solicitation process, including preparing and reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), placing public advertisements, receiving and reviewing responses, and assisting with selection and award processes.
- Overseeing the preparation and negotiation of clinical affiliation agreements, memorandums of agreement/understanding, affiliation agreements, revocable permits, lease agreements, revenue contracts, and other agreements requiring Business Office review.
- Ensuring timely processing of all related documents to minimize potential risk to university assets.
- Gathering and analyzing procurement-related data to support institutional decision making.
- Collaborating with SUNY System Procurement and General Counsel to interpret and apply complex procurement laws, regulations, and requirements that affect business operations.
- Providing leadership for the Procurement and Travel Office and for the Assistant Director of Business Services.
- Identifying and developing processes and procedural improvements and efficiencies.
- Working directly with the Vice President and Associate Vice President for Finance & Administration to develop and review policies related to business operations.
- Acting as one of the University's MWBE Coordinators.
- Overseeing, planning, responding to, and implementing findings from annual procurement audits.
Salary: $96,000 - $102,000 commensurate with experience. SUNY Oneonta is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) qualifying employer. Information on SUNY's comprehensive benefits offerings can be found at https://www.suny.edu/benefits. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of three years' experience working in procurement and/or contract administration.
- Minimum of three years' supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in business-related field.
- Supervisory experience overseeing multiple positions or multiple offices with varying functional responsibilities.
- Experience working in higher education, preferably within the SUNY system.
- Experience with New York State procurement policies and procedures.
- Experience with New York State systems, such as the Statewide Financial System (SFS), SUNY Financial Management System (FMS), and SUNY Business Intelligence (BI).
- Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
