Description:

Directs the Information Technology Support unit that provides support services to a college in the areas of training, software and hardware; web services and centralized and technical support. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

1. Directs Information Technology support activities and operations in the areas of training, web information services, technical support, and documentation.
2. Collaborates with college faculty to implement information technology support services in support of scholarly and academic mission of the college.
3. Recommends and implements policies and best practices and assists in the creation and maintenance of college IT budget.
4. Promotes the incorporation of technology into teaching and research by providing demonstrations, training and maintenance of appropriate hardware and software.
5. Oversees the provision of computing services to students via labs, documentation, and tech support.
6. Coordinates training, support and documentation for technology applications used by staff in support of the college's mission.
7. Represents the college on committees, university-wide task forces, and national conferences.
8. Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ:
Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
