Director of Operations and Maintenance
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of central heating plant and all campus plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems and structural needs to assure they are operating effectively and efficiently. Responsible for operation and scheduling of Campus Construction Services. Oversee budget, equipment and staff. Assist the Associate Vice President for Facilities Management with administrative and management functions. Member of Campus Emergency Response team and interim member of the Emergency Management Advisory Committee and any other campus committee as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Facilities Management related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years of technical experience in facilities operations and maintenance plus two (2) years of supervisory/management and budget management experience.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, analyze, execute and document administrative and management functions in compliance with the long term goals of the department.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.
- Must be on-call for 24 hours to respond to emergencies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- License in a major trade or professional accreditation.
- Computer literacy and a working knowledge with building plans and specifications.
- Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
