Director, Procurement
Job Description Summary
Responsible for providing overall direction and support for the daily operation of the Office of Procurement and Contracting in the purchase of all supplies, services, equipment, and capital construction projects necessary for the operation of the College and directs and leads the inventory management team.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics or related field required.
For applicants with a Bachelor's degree:
- A minimum of six years of procurement experience is required, to include relevant experience with RFP's and various contract types.
- A minimum of four years' relevant supervisory experience is required.
- Prior procurement experience in a higher educational setting is preferred.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB), Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.), or Certified Purchasing Card Professional (CPCP) certification is preferred.

Job Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions may be required to install, repair or troubleshoot AV-related technologies.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
- As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
- A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
