About This Role
You'll be responsible for overseeing all attract, develop and retain activities of the employee life cycle. This includes leading efforts on Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, to developing strategies to develop and retain talent including Training, Career Pathing, Succession Planning, and Engagement Initiatives.
Summary of Duties
What You’ll Do
Attract
- Oversee talent acquisition processes to ensure a diverse and talented pool of candidates.
- Oversee effective and comprehensive on-boarding programs for new hires.
Develop
- Coach and develop the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition.
- Establish training and development programs and initiatives to enable employees in building career paths and reaching their full potential.
- Establish supervisory and leadership development programs to enhance the skills of HCCC’s people leaders.
- Ensure all employees complete required compliance related training programs.
- Collaborate with the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation and the Center for Online learning to promote the use of information technology in the classroom and the workplace.
- Works with leadership across the college to identify high performers and build succession plans.
- Remain current with new developments, advances and trends in employee training and development methodologies.
Retain
- Lead Employee Satisfaction Survey efforts and conducts analysis to determine opportunities for improvement.
- Implement mentoring programs for new employees to improve assimilation into new roles.
- Develop employee communications and work with the Director of Employee and Labor Relations to create and implement engagement initiatives.
- Oversee the annual performance management review process.
- Analyze exit interviews to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (Masters preferred).
- SHRM-CP and/or CEBS professional designations is preferred.
- Five (5) years of organizational development and/or talent management experience.
- Experience with on-boarding programs is a plus.
Competencies and Skills
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Creative and Innovative.
- Strategic thinker and problem-solver with strong organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations with regard to compliance training.
- Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort.
Residency
As a New Jersey First Act Employer, new employees must establish a primary residence in New Jersey within one year.
