Doctoral Lecturer/Internship Coordinator in Clinical/Counseling Psychology
The Department of Psychology in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch College, a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY), invites applications for a doctoral-level lecturer in clinical/counseling psychology to begin in August 2026. This position focuses on expanding curricular and internship opportunities for students in undergraduate and post-baccalaureate programs interested in clinical/counseling careers.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate-level introductory and advanced clinical/counseling courses, developing individual and group undergraduate practicum/internship courses, and supporting student career development. This involves establishing and maintaining a database of placement sites, developing new local sites, mentoring students in internship selection and completion, and communicating with placement sites. The role also provides leadership for the new Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Psychology with a Counseling/Clinical track. Some teaching in the Masters in Mental Health Counseling program may be possible, but the focus is on undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students.
Lecturer faculty are master teachers with full-time lines focused on teaching, with some service requirements and no research requirements. They participate in department, college, and university activities, and are eligible for promotion to Certificate of Continuous Employment in their fifth year based on teaching excellence and service.

Qualifications: A doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or related field; licensed or license-eligible in New York State; at least two years of clinical experience by August 25, 2026; evidence of successful teaching; ability to work in a multicultural environment; strong organizational skills; and commitment to the profession through relevant memberships.
Compensation: $84,668 - $89,544, commensurate with qualifications and experience. CUNY offers competitive benefits, including health insurance, pension, paid parental leave, and professional development support.
