Education Licensure Coordinator

SUMMARY: The Education Licensure Coordinator oversees and manages aspects of educator licensure within the institution’s accredited Educator Preparation Program. This position works closely with the Chair of the Education Department and with Education faculty to oversee students’ progress towards meeting Massachusetts licensure requirements. The Education Licensure Coordinator is responsible for data collection, monitoring of MTEL score reports and program surveys, updating student files, maintaining department websites and preparing handbooks for each academic year. The person in this position also serves as a liaison among candidates, faculty, school partners, and participates in training sessions and professional development to remain current with MA teacher licensure regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain data collection for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education including submitting the Title II report in collaboration with the Chair of the Education Dept.
- Provide information to prospective students and follow-up.
- Maintain budget for the Education Dept.
- Coordinate; prepare materials, and record minutes of meetings for the Educator Preparation Advisory Council, Practicum Orientation, MTEL Preparation Sessions and others.
- Attend Event Committee meetings for Education Department programs.
- Maintain contact with pre-practicum students, practicum students, supervising practitioners and college supervisors.
- Monitor and record student progress towards passing MTEL exams.
- Review requests for MTEL vouchers in collaboration with the Chair of the Education Dept. and issues vouchers as appropriate.
- Maintain and update student files and advising sheets.
- Prepare preliminary undergraduate transcript evaluations for graduate students.
- Prepare advising materials for the program.
- Process travel reimbursements, course vouchers and stipends.
- Maintain Education Department Google website.
- Monitor the progress of Masters in Education Students.
- Monitor and follow up with non-matriculated students.
- Maintain contact with Education Alumni.
- Assist Field Placement Coordinator with field correspondence and collection of surveys, practicum evaluations, and CAP data.
- Create flyers and newsletters.
- Prepare materials for accreditation of education programs.
- Prepare materials for annual reports.
- Scan and archive student files.
- Inventory, order, and maintain supplies and materials for the Education Department.
- House and update forms, documents and other materials for distribution to students.
- Supervise practicum and/or pre-practicum students in field placements as needed.
- Monitor and renew memberships and subscriptions for the Education Dept.
- Oversee student honor society membership and materials required for initiation and associated ceremonies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: NA
CONTACTS: Faculty, Students (undergraduate and graduate), prospective students, supervising practitioners, program supervisors, Professional Advisory Board, administration and staff and alumni.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree (M.Ed. preferred)
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Google, Outlook, Database Management (Empower/preferred)
- Administrative Experience in Education or teaching experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (preferred)
