Educational Nurse Coordinator (Electroconvulsive Therapy Clinic)

The Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Program at University of Michigan is a leader in ECT treatment for severe and resistant psychiatric illnesses. This department is a major referral site in Michigan. It is the largest ECT program in the region that treats both adults and individuals under 18 with severe mood disorders and other neuropsychiatric conditions.

Ketamine is an anesthetic agent with powerful antidepressant properties. It was developed in the 1960s by University of Michigan Health physicians as a safer option to provide comfortable sedation for procedures.
