About the Job
Applications are invited for a 50% part-time term faculty position in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth. This position is a 9-month, non-tenure-track appointment from August 24, 2026 - May 23, 2027. The primary role of this position is to develop and teach courses in electrical and computer engineering, support student learning, and contribute to the mission of the department.
Job Duties
- Develop and teach courses in
- Smart GRID
- Energy Conversion Systems
- Power Systems
- Computer Networks
- Antennas and Transmission
- Demonstrate high command of the subject matter
- Have a well-organized course plan and deliver the course clearly to students
- Help students fulfill their academic needs
- Assess and grade student learning and hold office hours
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- M.S. (instructor)
- Experience either in coursework or a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Effective written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. (assistant professor)
- Two or more years of relevant college-level teaching experience
- Two or more years of professional experience in a relevant field
- Expertise in using technology for teaching
- Demonstrated experience with assessment
- Evidence of the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $31,000.00 - $32,500.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment: 50 % Appointment
Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
