Job Summary
Provides hands-on technical and analytical support to the University's energy management program. Responsible for utility data collection, analysis, and reporting, maintaining and updating dashboards, and hands-on support for Building Automation Systems (BAS), metering, and other building systems. This role assists the Energy Management team in identifying and submitting energy savings opportunities, verifying system performance, and maintaining accurate records of campus utility use.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collects, organizes, and validates monthly utility and submeter data; ensures accuracy, identifies irregularities, and assists in maintaining energy office dashboards
- Prepares and supports communication of energy performance reports and data summaries, to help identify ECMs and track progress toward institutional sustainability goals and EUI/WUI targets
- Supports the University's rebate and incentive program by preparing documentation, verifying project data, calculating preliminary savings, and submitting applications
- Performs field checks and supports energy audits, meters, and BAS controls, including verification of setpoints, sequences, and overall system performance
- Supports implementation of campus energy initiatives for efficiency measures by providing data analysis, field verification, and technical assistance
- Collaborates with external contractors and facilities staff to resolve metering, BAS, and controls issues
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and/or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related experience in heating, ventilation, and air Conditioning (HVAC), electrical, BAS, data analysis, or utility metering, including one (1) year of experience in energy analysis, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Energy Auditor (CEA), or related certification
Professional Engineering License in the State of Georgia
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Experience
Proven experience with utility bills, trend data, BAS software, energy dashboards, or metering systems
Experience benchmarking an end use table and working with energy/water performance metrics such as energy use intensity (EUI) and water use intensity (WUI)
Experience in maintenance and operations (M&O) preferably in a higher education or institutional environment
Proposed Salary

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to analyze, trend, and identify anomalies in large data sets.
Able to commission, configure, and verify the performance of energy metering equipment
Proven ability to troubleshoot building systems, with experience in optimizing controls considered a strong advantage.
Able to effectively communicate orally, in writing, or electronically
Able to work effectively in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities
Able to work with diverse team members and ideas for energy sustainability and savings.
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with utility rebate programs
Familiarity with energy metrics such as EUI/WUI, annual utility usage trends, and building performance benchmarking.
Familiarity with identifying, calculating, and prioritizing building energy conservation measures (ECMs).
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and BAS systems, with an understanding of safe practices for handling building systems and equipment.
Knowledge of safe practices for working with electrical, mechanical, and building systems equipment, etc
Proficiency with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., AI, Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Power BI)
SKILLS
Strong customer service skills, including professional phone and e-mail etiquette.
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
