Nature Finance Specialist

This position has been deemed critical by the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Dean’s Office and is exempt from the hiring pause.

This is a one-year fixed term position with the possibility of renewal dependent on programmatic need and budgetary availability.

The Natural Capital Project seeks an expert in nature finance to join a research and engagement program focused on mainstreaming natural capital approaches into standard financing offerings and processes among international financial institutions (IFIs, such as the Inter-American Development Bank and Asian Development Bank), as well as into country government policy and finance pathways...

Your Responsibilities will include

  • Lead nature finance-related aspects of a research and engagement program...
  • Conduct outreach to and coordinate among country-focused project teams...
  • Identify opportunities for the program to accelerate mainstreaming...
  • Identify and fill research gaps relating to nature finance...
  • Share program progress and results...
  • Represent the program and the Natural Capital Project at meetings...
  • Contribute to curriculum development...
  • Contribute to the development of program strategies and funding proposals...

To be successful in this position, you will need

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills...
  • Ability to oversee and direct staff.
  • Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.

In addition, our preferred qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in international development...
  • Experience working with multilateral development banks...
  • Strong understanding of scientific foundation...
  • Ability to collaborate as well as work independently...
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English...

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States...

The expected pay range for this position is $116,966 to $150,114 per annum for the Stanford Work Location.

The expected pay range for this position is $80,648 to $137,207 per annum for all other locations.
