Salary: £36,636 to £46,049 Grade 7, Full Time, Permanent
Role Summary: The Birmingham International Academy (BIA) delivers the International Foundation Pathway, Presessional English and Academic English for international students. This role involves teaching and advising students in Engineering and Physical Sciences, focusing on mathematics, physics, computer science, and/or chemistry at an A-level standard within an established program.
Main Duties:
- Teach courses in at least two of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science at foundation level through lectures and seminars.
Contribute to module design.
- Plan and prepare teaching materials.
- Devise and supervise projects, dissertations, and practical work.
- Provide academic support through resources and tutorials.
- Undertake supervision, marking, and examining.
- Update subject expertise and engage in professional development.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer and administration.
Person Specification:
- Higher degree relevant to the area or equivalent qualifications.
- Knowledge of curriculum requirements at International Foundation or A-level equivalent.
- Ability to design and deliver module materials, assess resources, and contribute to management processes.
- Understanding of Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics.
