Esports Head Coach, Part-Time Temporary

In the role of GTCC esports coach, this individual would report to the Director of Athletics. They would be responsible for assuring a quality program that emphasizes student academic success, competitive drive, fiscal accountability, and all levels of rules compliance. The individual will be responsible for all of the day to day operations of the program. Extensive knowledge of esports is required, and coaching/teaching experience is preferred. Greater consideration will be given to collegiate coaching experience. As an internal hire, interested applicants should confirm their ability to take on this role with their supervisor and VP.
Duties/Functions:
- Daily practice planning and implementation.
- Academic monitoring of student-athletes.
- Coordinating competition schedule in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
- Game day preparation and competition coaching.
- Reporting and updating results in a timely fashion.
- Recruiting college level talent, men and women, for the program.
- Absolute NJCAAE and GTCC compliance.
- Inventory responsibility of equipment and gear.
- Other duties the Director of Athletics may require for the esports program. Although rare in esports, transporting/driving team to away competitions.
Education Required: A Bachelor's degree is required from an institutionally accredited college/university.
Education Preferred: A Master's degree is preferred from an institutionally accredited college/university.
KSA Required: Extensive knowledge of esports is required.
Department/Job Specific Requirements: 16 hrs./week on average based on sport competitions (evening hours to be expected). The following (compliance) training is required and must be completed within the first 30 days of hire with annual refresher training thereafter: Ethics, Safety/Shooter on Campus, Personal Information Protection Training (PIP), Anti-Discrimination/Harassment & Title IX, Other training may be required as determined applicable.
Physical Demands: Physical Activity: Long periods of standing and or walking. Environmental Hazard(s): <15%. Lifting: 20<->50lbs.
