EU Visiting Researcher / Research Fellow (m/f/d) in the field of Theoretical Optics & Photonics with expected full-time employment - non-tariff compensation (third-party funding limited until [contact details available in the full listing])

Your responsibilities:
- scientific research services in the field of theoretical physics
- investigation and modeling of fluctuation-induced phenomena, in particular for the analysis of atom-surface and light-matter interactions
- collaboration with the research groups of the MSCA Doctoral Network QUEST
Your qualifications:
- completed scientific university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in physics or a closely related field, preferably with an above-average grade
- in-depth knowledge of and a strong interest in theoretical physics
- proven mathematical skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C++, Python, Julia)
- excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with active participation in network meetings, training schools, and outreach activities
- willingness to undertake research stays (secondments) of at least three months each at Sorbonne Paris Nord University (FR) and the Technical University of Denmark (DK)
- maximum of 12 months of residence or main activity in Germany within the last 36 months prior to recruitment (MSCA mobility rule)
- fluency in English, both written and spoken (at least B2)

Non-tariff compensation, based on the flat rates specified in the EU Call 2025 (comprising a monthly living allowance, mobility allowance, and, if applicable, family allowance; each before deduction of statutory taxes and social security contributions).
